A Note from President Mike McGehee
Remember the old saying?….”Time flies when you’re having fun!”….That’s what 2022 feels like to me. I feel as though I was writing my portion of the 2021 year-end review just a few weeks ago. The “fun” part is that as 2022 progressed, we saw a substantial increase in bidding opportunities, along with the procurement of substantial contracts with both new and existing clients throughout the year, along with opportunities pushing into 2023 as well.
A few things to highlight a successful year are outlined below, as well as access to read our full 2022 Annual Report.
Featured Projects:
We have been actively involved in a significant effluent limitations guidelines (ELG) project for AEP at the Flint Creek Power Plant in Gentry, AR since mid-year. This has required 60,925 man-hours (to date) from our four (4) crafts, along with on-site Project Management, Superintendent and Safety personnel to oversee the Civil, Concrete and Mechanical construction and installation for this project.
We continued to do sizeable projects at the Data Center in Pryor, along with smaller projects at the IC Bus Plant in Tulsa and at LSB Industries (Pryor Chemical) in the Industrial Park.
Employee Spotlights
We hired two (2) new Project Managers in 2022:
- Daniel Garcia
- Neil Cook
A write-up and interviews with each of them are in the following pages of this Annual Report.
Expanding Our Craft
As we look to 2023, we are excited to grow a new Industrial Piping Division that we plan to add to our self-performing services offered by Williams Construction; this new division is also discussed in more detail in this Annual Report and is anticipated to begin servicing clients later this year.
Looking Forward
Williams Construction will celebrate their 70th year of continued success in business during 2023! This success could not have been possible without the hard-working and talented employees (both past and present) that I have (and had) the opportunity to work with over the years. Their compassion and dedication to the company, the industry and our clients will continue to provide specialized and critical construction and maintenance services for at least another 70 more years!
With every new year comes greater opportunities and challenges in our lives. I wish all our employees, clients, friends, and families, the courage, hope, health, and happiness for a safe and blessed New Year.
